Invited speakers
Dr. Qasim Al-Mamari currently works as the Program Director of Information Technology at the Colleges of Applied Sciences. He assumed this position since September 201​5​. Dr. Al-Mamari left the Sultanate on a full scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education in 2001 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in upstate New York. During his undergraduate study, he enrolled in the Foreign Language Tutoring Program at the English Language Center at RIT. He tutored Arabic for non-arabic speakers for two years. After graduation, Qasim was offered a merit-based full scholarship by RIT to pursue a Master's degree in Information Technology where he also tutored programming, database, and networking students. He also worked as a teaching assistant for some IT professors at the Information Technology department at RIT. In August 2006, he returned to the Sultanate and started working as a lecturer at the College of Applied Sciences in Sohar in January 2007. He, then, left again in early 2009 to Melbourne Australia to pursue a PhD degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). His PhD was about the adoption and implementation of e-Government in the context of the developing world with an emphasis on the Omani experience.​ His research interests are in Big Data, TV White Spaces, E-Government and E-Commerce.
Dr. Sanghyuk Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China. He received Doctorate degree at Seoul National University as majoring Electrical Engineering in 1998. His main research interests include data evaluation with similarity measure, human signal analysis, high dimensional data analysis, controller design for linear/nonlinear system, and observer design for linear/nonlinear system. Professor Lee had joined as vice president of Korean Convergence Society 2012, and he organized the international conference several times with KCS. And he awarded multiple honors such as outstanding scholar award from KCS and Korean fuzzy society and best paper award. He has published referred over 150 journal papers, and 80 conference papers.
Dr. Gyoo-Soo Chea has received Ph.D from Virginia Tech. In USA in 2000 by majoring Electric Engineering. After receiving Ph.D, he worked at Amphenol Mobile, Korea as a RF manager from June 2001 to February 2003. He has been with Baekseok University in Korea as a Professor since 2003. He serves Editor-in-Chief of The Korea Institute of Information, Electronics, and Communication Technology since 2013. His research interests are antennas and dual-band inverted-F antenna.
Dr. Kunhee Han has been with Beakseok University in Korea as an associate professor since 2001. He has served as President of Society of Convergence and Integrated Research in Korea since 2014, Now he serves as Chief-Vice President of Korea Convergence Society, and other society as Chief-Vice President including The Society of Digital Policy & Management, and Convergence Society for Small and Medium Society for Small and Medium Business. Dr. Han organize 5 international conference as a General Chair and Advisory Committee Chair. His research interest include database and operating system.
Dr. Sam 'Sunghyuck' Hong received a Ph.D. degree from Texas Tech University in August, 2007 major in Computer Science. After graduation, he worked at International affairs in Texas Tech University as a senior programmer/analyst, and his jobs were development of ASP.NET web applications and maintenance of PC/Server. Currently, he is an assistant professor in Division of Information & Communication at Baekseok University in Cheonan, Korea, and he is a member of editorial board in the Journal of Korean Society for Internet Information (KSII) Transactions on Internet and Information Systems. His current research interests include Secure Mobile Networks, Secure Wireless Sensor Networks, Key Management (Group Key Agreement Protocol), Networks Security (Authentication), Information Security, Embedded Networked Systems, Embedded Software, Wireless LAN, Distributed Systems, Computer Networks, Hybrid Wireless Network Architecture Design, and Mobility Design/Modeling/Simulation. He has published referred over 26 international journal papers, and 16 conference papers.
Dr. Harish C Chandramoorthy obtained his Ph.D. in faculty of biomedical science from Dr.TN MGR Medical University (Madras, India) in specialization of Pediatric Neurovirology. He served WHO’s National Polio Surveillance Project (NPSP) of South East Asian Regional Office (SEARO) as scientist and later entered into the field of the stem cell research in the India’s first government recognized cord blood bank ‘Life Cell’. He basically started his career as quality assurance officer and later became quality auditor for ISO, FDA and AABB certifications. Dr. Harish is also a Six sigma black belt from ISI (Indian Statistical Institute, 2007 batch) New Delhi. He has a wide experience in automation and laboratory information flow and management. He has served as consultant to several organizations in India and abroad. Apart from his academic and research work, he has served as draft committee member for the inclusion of cord blood banking in the Drugs and Cosmetics act of India under the Drug Controller General of India. Further he has served as head; R&D unit of BioGenex, a California based US Company involved in the manufacture of diagnostic antibodies where he was overlooking R& D along with quality control issues. He is experienced and worked at Thomas Starzl Transplant Institute, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburg, USA and Center for Translational Medicine, Temple School of Medicine, Temple University, Philadelphia. He is currently working as Vice Chairman, Center for Stem Cell Research, College of Medicine, King Khalid University, Abha, KSA. He further takes care of centralized equipment and advanced instrumentation facility. He has been part of cord blood banks, clinical trials centers and various diagnostic and research laboratories and has got a wide range of publications for both scientific and public audiences.
Dr. Thirumurugan Shanmugam is working as Professor and Head of Computer Network Section, Department of Information Technology, CAS Sohar, where he has been since 2008. He received B.Sc. from Sacred Heart College, University of Madras in 1995 and M.Sc. from the CEG Campus, Anna University in 1998. He received his PhD Computer Science from Anna University in 2004. His teaching and research experience stretches for more than 17 years in prestigious higher educational institutions in India and Oman. He received best paper award in the International Conference from IIM-K, India. . His research interests are Software and Network Reliability Engineering, Neural Networks and Fuzzy Data Mining. He published 40 research papers in the leading international journals and a given seminars at a number of important international conferences and institutions. He edited three proceedings of the National Conference. Also, he chaired and gave Key note address in the various International Conferences in India and Oman. He was guided 9 MS students and 7 BS students.
Dr. Radhakrishnan Palanikumar is an Associate Professor at College of Computer Science, King Khalid University, Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has over 30 scientific papers either presented or published. He has International University teaching experience in computer science department including Multimedia University Malaysia, Madras University (India) affiliated colleges. Dr. Radhakrishnan's area of interest in research is image processing including morphological transformations, image segmentation and mathematical computation. He is an editorial board member in several international journals and conference including seek digital library with Institute of Research engineers and Doctors (IRED) organizations. Dr. Radhakrishnan is a member of Asian Council of Science Editors and Universal Association of Computer and Electronics Engineers (UACEE).
Dr. Xavier Chelladurai is currently Vice President - Automation Implementation in Tech Mahindra Ltd., Bangalore. He is responsible for implementing Artificial Intelligence and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) based automation in the IT and BPO service delivery across the company. He is a specialist in Application development, support and maintenance responsible for delivery in the Europe Telecommunication customers for more than 10 years. He got his Ph. D. for his thesis on Parallel Algorithms. He is author of ten computer science text books on Parallel Algorithms, Web Technologies, Web Design, Java Programming and several other programming languages and Numerical methods published by John Wiley Inc, McGraw Hill and New Age International. Seven scholars have successfully completed their Ph. D. under his supervision.
